As you probably have already heard, the new SONAR V-Studio 100 by Cakewalk is taking portable music production to another level. When used with your Mac or PC you get a 24/96k audio interface with high-quality mic preamps and a DAW controller. Away from you computer you get an 8×6 digital mixer an SD recorder to play back beats at your gig or to record those inspiring moments on the road or at home when you don’t feel like firing up your computer. Plus it comes with the VS Production Pack of effects and instruments for Mac and Windows.
To prove our point, we took the V-Studio 100 to Sha Money’s One Stop Shop Conference in Phoenix, AZ and put it to work. With all the up and coming MCs and producers in attendance, we figured One Stop Shop was the best place to test this product out with the Hip Hop community. To paraphrase one of the original gangstas “If we can make it there, we’ll make it anywhere.”
Cakewalk’s resident producer Lil Shamrock recorded a beat on the spot and then threw down the gauntlet, challenging the MCs in attendance to come up and record their rhymes on the fly while the beat was playing back from the V-Studio 100’s SD card.
Watch the video below to check out the finalists, then cast your vote and let us know who’s got it. The winner is going to receive a copy of SONAR Producer or Rapture. It’s up to you!
This contest will run through Monday July 6, 2009.

I gotta admit,Dame and Jay breaking up really ended a great era..Biggie was gone,Nas was in Africa and 50 was positioning the power play to run Ny.From 2002 till now 50 cent and G-unit elevated the odds and ran this rap shit..this was the time when crews had a real impact on the world,Dame served a purpose that can not be replaced or purchased..Young Fly and Flashy we all are in hiphop but what we don't see when we all start getting money is the wild crazy shit people do to break up a team with plans on taking over your shit..This shit happens..To create and build a brand from being an artist, producer, manager, visionary and business man, sweat equity and coming from the streets takes a lot from the ground on up,so to see labels suck us in and spit us out,I ain't mad at Dame for giving it to them, some heads in the film I fucks with so nothing against them, but Labels better get they shit together...they staffs be wack, not into it,don't go out, don't care, was riding the wave we created in the 1st place..So Jay you know you my n!$$@,I know you,50 and Diddy will be the 1st Rapper Billion Dollar N!$$@$ but man..Every record label needs this kinda n!$$@>>we loosing ourselves when we don't inspire and run our shit..

The film will be directed by my homie Anthony Marshall, co-founder of the Lyricist Lounge.
For the first time in his illustrious career, the legacy Big Daddy Kane will be the subject of a feature-length documentary.
Simply titled BDK, the biopic features Kane narrating on his humble beginnings growing up Brooklyn, and his first exposure to the culture that would define him as the legendary M.C.
